Campus Interviewing Procedures

Our location: The Career Development Center is located at 414 S. Holliston Avenue, on the 3rd floor (Center for Student Services - formerly Keck House, building number 86 on the campus map).

Directions to the Career Development Center (pdf 116K)

Company materials: If you have materials to be distributed during your visit, you may unload your car on the north side of our building and a CDC staff member can assist you. Please bring plenty of business cards.

Job offers: Finally, please keep us informed about your contacts with Caltech students by sending us a copy of any correspondence directed to them. It is especially helpful to us to receive copies of any job offers. We participate in the NACE Salary Survey and also prepare detailed salary statistics for all Caltech graduates each year.

Publicizing Your Company Visit

Information Sessions Can Make a Successful Recruiting Visit
Scheduling an open information meeting prior to your interviews can accomplish several goals. First, more time can be taken to give an overview of your company than is available during the actual interview. Second, your company becomes better known; and third, candidates will interview much more effectively.

What can you do to help ensure the best turnout for your presentation? Specific publicity about the event seems to make a significant difference in attendance.

E-flyers regarding your on-campus visit can be e-mailed to students (PDF files are recommended)
Including food at your meeting and mentioning the technical challenges and alumni employed by your organization are several ways to help assure success. The Recruiting Coordinator can help you reserve a room and arrange for refreshments and A/V equipment if needed. There is a charge for refreshments and AV equipment. In addition, a 15% service charge will be added to your bill. In order to be assured of an appropriate room and equipment, the date for your information meeting should be selected at the same time that you select interview dates.
Information sessions can be scheduled from
1) 3:00 to 4:30 PM (Monday through Thursday) or
2) 12:00 to 2:30 PM (Monday through Thursday)

Feel free to call our office and discuss your company’s particular goals and needs while recruiting at Caltech with the Recruiting Coordinator. We want to make your information session as productive as possible for your company and our students.

Advertising In the Campus Newspaper

The campus newspaper is another way to call attention to your company and your visit. You may contact The California Tech office at (626) 395-6154 or e-mail the office at business@tech.caltech.edu.
