An ever-increasing number of Caltech students are pursuing medical careers. The Caltech Premed Association (CPMA) was established in order to build a supportive community for pre-med students to help each other through their Caltech years and the arduous medical school application process. Through volunteer activities and social events, premed students come together as friends rather than competitors. In addition, upper-classmen share their personal experiences and information with prospective and current premed students. This student-led organization is guided and sponsored by the Premed Advisor and the Career Development Center.
Anyone in the Caltech community who is interested in medicine can join the Caltech Pre-Med Association. Our roster currently includes over 180 members (undergraduate and graduate students, and alumni). Currently students leaders are actively engaged in the planning and execution of various activities through three sub-committees: social, volunteering, and club funding.
